Have you ever wondered how some people seem so confident that they somehow have a glowing aura about them?
Often, people with high self-esteem of with confidence seem to go through life easier than other. Here are a few tips to boost your self-confidence and to make life a bit easier in certain situations.
1. you might your own best friend.
you’ll be living with yourself for the rest of your life, no matter how cliché it may sound. it is then important to learn to listen to yourself, push your limits but not too much because you have to respect yourself as well. respect your boundaries and know what you are good at.
2. avoid being negative.
life is too short to be spent complaining. negativity leads to dissatisfaction and may be an obstacle to your happiness so instead, focus on things you have achieved and compliment yourself daily.
I’ve heard quite a few times friends speaking of beauty and how it is dominant as a criteria in our postmodern times. beauty is found in anyone but some know how to highlight it more than others. in order to boost your self-esteem, focus on one thing you like about yourself and care for it and honor it for everyone else to see (this can be your hair as well as a wonderful sense of humor).
4. stop comparing yourself to others.
someone will always be better than you in some ways so it may be best to resist comparison and congratulate yourself for what you have accomplished.
studies have proven that smiling actually enhances happiness as it releases endorphins that make you feel less tense. it also shows others that you are in control of your moods and when someone returns your smile, it shows how you can brighten someone’s day for just a few seconds.
6. keep busy.
when procrastination is involved, there is way too much room for reflection. instead, use your spare time to do something you really love, like exploring your passions, or simply to learn something new. by gaining new knowledge and the excitement of having gotten something done, you are bound to have a self-esteem boost.
7. surround yourself with the right people.
first of all, avoid people who complain a LOT. mainly because by bringing out their insecurities, you will unconsciously reflect on yours and this is a barrier to your happiness. instead, if your friend’s moods and attitudes make you smile and you feel comfortable around them, then you are sure that your plans might always go right.
