Everyone can fall into decadence due to fame. Born in 1936 in Algeria, Yves Saint Laurent was one that was taken by the decadent face of fame. He was one of the most successful designers in fashion and created some of the most famous looks like the saharienne and the women’s tuxedo. Starting at the most prestigious house of couture, Dior, he quickly created his own brand, revolutionising fashion.

But with fame comes the pressure and one of the easiest solutions for this stress is to give into drugs. Yves Saint Laurent was not a party boy originally but because of different influences he switched to the other side and followed a decadent lifestyle entering the nightlife world and all its bad sides.

The movie Yves Saint Laurent by Jalil Lespert, depicts among other elements, the decadence of this genius. The main character is played by Pierre Niney, member of the Académie Française and his performance in this movie is wonderful!
